The upcoming 8th European Meeting on Urological Cancers (EMUC16) to be held in Milan (IT) from November 24 to 27 attracted a higher number of abstract submissions with 237 oral and poster abstracts received for screening.
“Compared to last year in Barcelona where we received and reviewed around 178 abstracts, this year saw an increase in submissions to both the EMUC and the annual meeting of the EAU Section of Urological Imaging (ESUI),” the organisers said.
Included in the 237 submissions were 27 abstracts submitted for the ESUI. Last year the ESUI reviewed a lower number of abstracts at 15 submissions. EMUC received in 2015 for the seventh meeting around 178 submissions including six contributions for the oral sessions.
This year the deadline for late-breaking abstracts is August 30. Interested contributors for late-breaking abstracts are required to submit high quality, new research findings with implications for clinical practice. The organisers will only accept proposed late breaking abstracts whose outcomes or findings were not available at the time of the 1 July deadline.
All submissions will undergo review and screening and authors of accepted abstracts will be notified of the results by next month.
Abstracts with innovative insights and perspectives will also be highlighted and commended during the meeting, while ESUI will grant a cash reward to the authors of the best abstract during its meeting on 24 November.
